Who operates Wisp

Wisp is developed and distributed by Fuse Labs. References to “Wisp,” “we,” “us,” or “our” in this policy refer to Fuse Labs and the Wisp application.

Selected text and local processing

Text you select for translation is processed on your Mac by the local model you install. Wisp does not send selected text to Fuse Labs, does not create a cloud writing history, and does not require a Wisp account.

Generated translations are returned directly to the editable text field from which the source text was selected.

Accessibility permissions

Wisp uses macOS Accessibility, Input Monitoring, and keyboard control permissions to identify supported editable text selections, position the Wisp button, and replace selected text after translation.

Wisp is not designed to read passwords or secure text fields. Accessible text is used only as needed to provide the requested translation and is not retained by Wisp after the action is complete.

Information stored on your Mac

Wisp stores your language, tone, model, launch, and interface preferences in local application settings. Downloaded model files remain on your Mac until you remove them through Wisp or delete the related application data.

Network connections

Wisp uses the internet when you download or update a local model, check for Wisp software updates, open the Wisp website, request support, or visit the optional donation page. These connections may disclose ordinary network information, such as your IP address, device type, request time, and requested file, to the relevant hosting provider.

The local translation itself does not require an internet connection after the selected model is installed.

Website and external services

The Wisp website does not require an account. Website hosting providers may process standard server logs for delivery, reliability, abuse prevention, and security.

Model providers, Buy Me a Coffee, and Fuse Labs support pages operate under their own privacy terms when you choose to use those services.

Retention and security

Wisp does not retain the selected text it translates. Local preferences and model files remain under your control on your Mac. Operational website logs may be retained by hosting providers for their standard security and reliability periods.

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to a local-first macOS application, but no software or network service can guarantee absolute security.

Children and policy changes

Wisp is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

We may update this policy when Wisp changes or legal requirements evolve. The effective date shown above identifies the current version.
